總統馬英九昨（28）日登上南沙群島最大島嶼太平島，引發美國、越南、中國高度關注。中國外交部發言人華春瑩昨日在例行記者會上表示，「南沙群島自古以來就是中國領土，兩岸中國人都有責任維護中華民族祖產」。
至於兩岸間是否透過常態聯繫機制、或者甫建立起的事務首長熱線溝通此事，陸委會發言人楊家駿昨日表示，總統巡視領土、維護主權是正常行為，國台辦未就此事聯絡陸委會，我方也沒有立場為此事與他們聯絡。
有關南沙群島主權爭議，中國、台灣、越南、菲律賓、馬來西亞、汶萊等均聲稱擁有該島嶼完整或部分主權，馬英九昨日於任內首登太平島並發表相關談話，在宣誓主權上具有重要意義。
中國外交部昨日除重申中國於南沙群島的主權外，其發言人華春瑩表示，中國政府一向致力於將南海建設成和平之海，將繼續為維護南海航行自由積極努力。
